I was fortunate to break into investment banking and private equity right out of undergrad. While I was successful on paper, I realized I was going down a path I wasn't even sure I wanted to go down.

The hard part came when I was paralyzed by not having a clue about what I actually wanted. I would blindly apply to roles that sounded interesting, thinking my resume would get my foot in the door.
